Mike Shull Joins FBT Construction Law Group
Mike Shull recently joined Frost Brown Todd’s Construction Law Group and will be based in the Louisville office. Mike holds civil engineering and law degrees from the University of Kentucky and was a research engineer for the Kentucky Transportation Center (formerly the research division of the Kentucky Department of Transportation) before pursuing his legal career. There he gained experience with highway construction materials, pavement drainage systems, and other transportation-related issues
Prior to joining FBT, Mike practiced construction litigation for over six years with Smith, Currie & Hancock LLP in Atlanta, Georgia, and also spent over two years practicing construction law in Denver, Colorado. Mike’s client representations range from casinos and ENR Top 400 contractors to design firms and subcontractors. He has handled cases involving coastal bridges, high-rise hotels and casinos, shopping malls, mixed use developments, subdivisions and highways. Mike has represented clients in court or in ADR proceedings in Alabama, California, Colorado, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Nevada, North Carolina, and elsewhere. He also drafts, reviews and negotiates contracts for owners, designers and contractors, often for projects exceeding $100,000,000.00. Mike has advised clients from most U.S. states, the Republic of Ireland, and Switzerland.
Mike is a published authority on construction law topics, as well as a former assistant adjunct professor for the Construction Law course at Southern Polytechnic State University. Most recently, he contributed to the American Bar Association’s forthcoming treatise A State by State Guide to Construction and Design Law. He is admitted to practice in Colorado, Georgia and Kentucky, and was recently admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States.
