CITY OF INDIANAPOLIS PREPARES FOR DEEP ROCK TUNNEL CONNECTOR BID

The City of Indianapolis will host a pre-bid conference on July 22, 2011, for the Deep Rock Tunnel Connector project.

The City of Indianapolis will host a pre-bid conference on July 22, 2011, for the Deep Rock Tunnel Connector project.  The Deep Rock Tunnel Connector is the first phase of a continuing program of tunnel work needed by the City as part of a consent decree with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) and the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (“IDEM”) to prevent combined sewer overflows into the local waterways.  The citywide tunnel system is to be complete and fully operational by 2025.  Currently, the bids are scheduled to be received on or before August 11, 2011.  The construction estimate for this project is between $250 million and $350 million.  The City of Indianapolis has recently published its local Indiana Preference Claim Guide and E-Verify Contract Requirements.  These documents can be found online at the City of Indianapolis’ website (http://www.indy.gov/eGov/City/OFM/Purch/Bids/Pages/BiddingOpportunities.aspx).
